Toronto Star writes that the voters of Ontario have decided this election to send the highest number of female MPPs to the parliament.
The Star continues in the article to make a big deal out of it as the first time in history etcetera.
There’s just one flaw to the story though. There’s no evidence that people were voted based on their gender.
They were voted on what their platforms and merits.
Their candidacy was based on merits and willingness.
So how is gender related to who was voted as MPPs?
Did communities get together and decided that we’re going to vote and send her and her to parliament because we need more women?
