Canada will become the second country in the world to legalize marijuana this October, or so it is expected.
Uruguay was the first country to legalize marijuana.
Some Uruguayans wanted their flag changed but their government didn’t approve due to complex background theme and the costs associated for printing and changing the flag.

But since Uruguay turned down the marijuana leaf on their flag some Canadians have proposed to make the marijuana leaf a national symbol.
The new proposed flag for Canada will have the same colours but the leaf will change from the maple leaf to a marijuana leaf.

It is unsure at the moment if and how other symbols that bear the maple leaf will be affected.
